Fishing is an important skill in shadowlands as you can improve your Cooking skill, it’s also a great skill for a Hunter with a fish-loving pet, or you can also sell fish on the Auction House. Here’s a guide of the different types of fish that you can hunt and locations where you can get them.
Learn Fishing
First you need to learn fishing in order to do that you need to go to Retriever Au’prin, the Fishing Trainer, in the hall of shapes in Oribos.
After that you will obtain your fishing skill and you can buy The Broken Angle’r fishing pole from the vendor. This fishing pole will increase your fishing skill by 15, it also increases the chance to bait while fishing in Shadowlands.
Different types of of fish and the locations
Location – Bastion
The first zone you will enter while leveling your character.
Fishes you can find:
- Elysian Thade – can be caught in all 4 zones
- Lost Sole – can be caught in all 4 zones
- Silvergill Pike – can be caught in Bastion zone only. The best location to fish is on this part of the map(see map location below) where you can find a small pool to fish.
Location – Maldrexxus
Fishes you can find:
- You can find both the Elysian Thade and Lost Sole in this zone.
- Pocket Bonefish – can be caught in Maldrexxus only. This is the safe spot on the map where you can fish to avoid being attacked by the mobs.
Location – Ardenweald
Fishes you can find:
- You can find both the Elysian Thade and Lost Sole in this zone.
- Iridescent Amberjack – can be caught in this zone only. The safest way to do the fishing on this location is beside the flight post, to avoid being attacked by the mobs.
Location – Revendreth
Fishes you can find
- You can find both the Elysian Thade and Lost Sole in this zone.
- Spinefin Piranha – can be caught in this zone only. The best location to fish this spot on the map(see map image below).
