Shadowlands Week 18: What To Expect

Full steam ahead with patch 9.0.5! Here’s what to expect this week in Shadowlands.

0:21 First off, there will be a few hot fixes in Castle Nathria. On mythic difficulty, Artificer Xy’mox got a 5% nerf to its health. And the Withering Touch debuff that nasty single target DoT, it now deals 15% less damage. Denathrius got a devastating 9% nerf to its health and a modest 10% nerf to its Hand of Destruction. The Denathrius nerfs might throw off a few teams that now have to readjust how they handle cleansing debuffs in phase one and the timing of add spawns in phase two. Overall, this should be a great change.

0:58The Kyrian trait, Let Go of the Past, was apparently increasing the amount of magic damage taken instead of reducing it. Which sort of goes to show how unpopular the soulbind was to where people would stop using pelegos and nobody noticed. It’s since been fixed which is cool but sadly it probably won’t make him any more popular.

1:17 The Wandering Ancient mount, which we got for free the other week, underwent a bit of a change with different colors and effects. However the mini caterpillar remains biding its time until it can spread its vile corruption.

1:32 The world boss this week is Valinor, the Light of Eons. Make sure you grab that anima collection quest before taking them on if you want some of that extra gold.

Priests, Paladins and Shamans get an opportunity to complete their legendary collections too, so head on over to Bastion.

1:52This week the dungeon event returns handing out extra loot from the final boss and heroic Castle Nathria gear when you complete the event quest. Pair this with the weekly dungeon quests over in Oribos for some easy reputation and anima.

Over in the world of mythic plus, this week’s affixes are Tyrannical, Inspiring, and Necrotic. In case you forgot, Inspiring makes a random mob glow. Mobs around it are immune to all crowd control so the idea is to either hard cc the inspired mob and drag the rest of the pack over. Or grab them all, smoke the inspiring and then proceed to AOE stun. Just be careful of those necrotic stacks. If all else fails, now is a good time to run twos for valor. The max valor cap has been raised to 6,500, cross your fingers for a decent drop to spend your points on.

There’s only a day or so left to knock out the trial of style before it’s gone until August, so you must act now.
