Before the release of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Patch 9.1, let’s first talk about what DPS Specs have improved the most in patch 9.0.5 after it went live.
- Elemental Shaman

Before Patch 9.0.5, the Elemental Shamans always lack in AoE. They’re not terrible, but they’re in the back. That’s why in patch 9.0.5, they gave the shamans too much AoE, which gave it a huge impact. These enhancements have performed well in AoE – focused battles, making its overall logs better.
- Assassination Rogue

Assassination Rogues had the biggest gains of any melee in the game. Though it is not a fantastic spec in AoE, and its AoE damage is not that bad, it’s not designed for AoE. Competing with the casters is not an easy task, but the assassination rogues can do this easily.
- Arcane Mage

In general, mages will still stick to fire mage, but arcane and frost will not be left out when it comes to DPS specs. Arcane Mages climb from the bottom to the middle, which is not a huge benefit. Arcane Mages didn’t get many buffs of the class itself, so the arcane mage hasn’t really changed, but maybe it’s the environment.
- Demonology Warlock

Even though it’s almost in a similar position as the Arcane Mage, Demonology gets more gear at the latter part of the expansion. And for this spec having more gear gives it more health, making it a stronger tyrant. Also, as it also receives more gear, you can take advantage of the tyrant’s stamina scaling and get more out of the fights.
5. Frost & Unholy Death Knight

These specs, especially the Unholy DK, are regarded as the most powerful in World of Warcraft. Making it a good choice for a single target or AoE. While the Frost DK is a good choice for faster kill times.
