The BEST way to Farm The Maw | 9 Tips for Speed and Efficiency to MAXIMIZE Reputation Gains!

Just don’t know what to do when you’re in the Maw? Spending too much time grinding on it daily? Well, don’t fret! Here are some tips and tricks to help your daily grind in the Maw be far more efficient and maximize your reputation gains!

Tip #1: Go in a group

Whether it be with be random players from the group finder or some players you’re in a guild with, being in a group will make your experience being in the Maw faster and efficient in terms of speed and safety. Having a group with you can make objectives easier to finish from defeating rares and dealing with the Eye of the Jailer.

Tip #2: Turn War Mode Off

It’s important to turn war mode off especially when you’re not in a group as you’ll leave 20% of your current stygia and if you can’t retrieve it as you respawn you’ll lose it forever. Also in general, fighting others that are not part of what you’re objective is will just slow you down and you’ll be spending more time in the Maw than you need to.

Tip #3: Get Goblin Gliders

Best get these for some mobility when in the Maw. There are a lot of shortcuts you’ll be able to access with these gliders like over the mountainous terrains as well as getting around quite easier in the Maw.

Tip #4: Mount When You Can

Continuing with mobility improvements, there are outriders in the Maw that when killed let’s players interact with their mounts for 60 seconds allowing you to travel quicker and easier assuming you don’t use your skills while mounted. This is one of the events in the Maw that allows you to ride a mount beside the other rare drops from events held in the Maw as well. Note that anyone nearby can interact with the mount not just one person so this can be good mobility for your group.

Tip #5: Prioritize Reputation

Stop focusing on Stygia and start focusing on your Ve’nari Reputation when in the Maw. As improving reputation unlocks new areas in the Maw allowing you to kill new rares and gives you access to new daily and weekly quests for even more reputation. Get maximized reputation in order to buy the additional socket items as well as the random conduit upgrades.

Tip #6: Know Your Rares

To help you with your reputation grind, you’ll need to know which rares to kill and which ones to avoid to maximize your reputation gains. There are three special rares in Maw. First, the Special Encounters, the ones you want to avoid. These tend to be the easiest to complete and respawn the fastest. While they do grant a good amount of stygia, they only give out 40 rep making them inefficient compared to your other options.

Then there are the Normal Rare spawns and the Elite Rare Spawns. Both of these give less stygia but are more good resources of Ve’nari reputations where normal rares give out 80 rep and elite rares give 100 rep. Try your best to avoid killing anything but rare quest mobs.

Tip #7: Delay Quest Completion

Maximizing your rep gain is also how you handle your daily and weekly quests when in the Maw. There are a couple of things to remember about these quests. First, they grant you Eye of the Jailer progress upon completing the requirements NOT by turning it in so as soon as you finish the quest, it’ll increase the level of your Eye of the Jailer.

Second, you still gain reputation once you reach rank 5 of the Eye of the Jailer despite the debuff you get saying that all gains are reduced by 100%. This means that you can partially complete all of your daily and weekly quests with only a little left to finish then fill your Eye of the Jailer level by normally killing throughout the Maw.

Tip #8: Clear Your Debuff Stacks

In other words, clearing your Eye of the Jailer stacks. You’ll be able to reset your dot and healing reduction stacks just by simply exiting the Maw. Whether it be from the portal stone or even just by running back. This can give you time to finish your daily quests when you need to and resetting your stacks as much as you need to safely keep them. Being in a group will make this easier as they can easily pick you when you get snatched up.

Tip #9: Important Ve’nari Items

Aside from already having Unbound Reality Fragment and Spatial Realignment Apparatus for your daily farm grind in the Maw, there are a couple of other things you should note to bring with you.

First is Sigil of the Unseen, this makes you immune to the Jailer’s mark ability from the assassins that attack you when your Eye of the Jailer is at level 3. This debuff deals with shadow damage and increases your Eye of the Jailer rating allowing you to stay in the Maw a little longer and also prolongs your daily grind.

Second is Soul-Stabilizing Talisman grants which grants you immunity with Maw’s abductors which are the guys that abduct you when your Eye of the Jailer reaches level 4. Just another ability that also gives out damage and also increases your Eye of the Jailer rating.

The last notable item you should have with you at all times is the Cypher of Relocation which is the teleporter to the Ve’Nari sanctuary. This item can help you get out of sticky situations especially in high Eye of the Jailer stacks.
