This Week’s Final Hotfixes Before 9.0.5? Quick Overview

Last minute hotfixes are dropping before the next reset! There are a few significant changes coming to Sanguine Depths and the Castle Nathria raid in different difficulties. 

0:19 In Sanguine Depths, a few more nasty mobs are being nerfed. Wicked Oppressor that cast Wrack Soul will cast slower and less frequently. The Regal Mistdancer cast Echoing Trust the red line that you have to dodge over and over again, the damage is being reduced and it will not be casting as frequently at least we hope so.

1:02The Call Gauntlet is getting a bit of a nerf. General call’s health is being reduced by 10% to give just a bit more breathing room between what is still going to be a pain-in-the-neck push. There are some complaints over the boss mechanics killing the momentum of this key especially on tyrannical. While these changes don’t directly address them, it looks like these nerfs are targeted in such a way to raise the difficulty floor. One can suspect that even under a key difficulty, 10 people look at this key and consider it dead. Remember that keys will be going on all expansion. We would love our fixes to go in first but we can continue giving feedback for now. 

1:46 Now on to Castle Nathria, it’s a curious bit of changes of the earlier bosses. In non-mythic difficulties- Inverva Darkvein is less likely to afflict healers with concentrated anima or shared suffering and afflicted players will no longer take damage from beams if they are assigned to cut orbs. That’s a really big reduction in overall rate damage. Hungering Destroyer’s health in mythic difficulty has been reduced by 5%. The damage ticks from Gluttonous Miasma have been reduced by a small amount. The damage increase Essense Sap has been decreased from 10% per stack to 8% which overall gives a little bit more leniency to positioning. Sun King’s Salvation looks like it got some nerfs too. Essence Overflow heals for 2.5% of Kale’s HP up from 2% in all difficulties. Sinfall Boon, the orbs that you pick up, now give double the bonus healing although it is in mythic difficulty only. The Cloak of Flames that has to be burned down on the shade had its HP reduced by 10%.

Overall it is not a bad set of changes. However it is hard to translate how this is going to play against some of the upcoming class changes coming in 9.0.5. As of this writing, there is a PTR build already in the release candidate phase so this patch could be coming sooner than expected.
