Legendaries are back in World of Warcraft, and they are going to be more important than ever.
Here are some ways on how to craft legendaries in Shadowlands.
Unlock the runecarver
You should first open Torghast and complete a short journey in The Maw to open the Runecarver. When unlocked, you will be able to call on the power of the Runecarver to cut ancient runes on your armor and instill it with Legendary powers.
Here are some materials you need to create legendaries.
Soul Ash
This is a raw source of power that you may find in Torghast—used to fuel the Runecarver’s Chamber.
Base Piece
This piece is required through a max level profession. You need the rune carver, and he will give you the recipe. But if you don’t want to do professions, you can just buy the base pieces at the auction house. Here are some legendary base pieces.
- Tailoring (Cloth)
- Leatherworking (Leather/Mail)
- Blacksmithing (Plate)
- Jewelcrafters (Rings/Necks)
Missive Piece
These pieces are created by inscription, another profession that will be important because it gives the stats of the legendary you will build.
Legendary Powers
The powers are inspired by old tier sets, old legion legendaries, and some abilities from Torghast. These powers are learned through recipes, the general which is usable by any class, the class-specific, which can only be usable by a specific class, and the spec-specific power, which is usable by a particular spec within the class. Here are some legendary power sources:
- Reputation (General Powers Only)
- PVP Honor
- Torghast
- The Great Vault (Weekly Chest)
- Ve’nari Reputation
- Castle Nathria
- World Bosses
- Dungeons
Appearance
Appearances of the legendaries do not add up to the collection tab. Once collected, you cannot transmog other items into them. You can wear them, but they don’t add to the collection tab. But there will be another way to unlock the entire set later on in the game. That is according to the game director of WoW.
