On Torghast break floors you can see a hologram that will preview the boss available on the final floor of the wing or the next boss available in Twisting Corridors. Knowing what boss you will face can give you an advantage and prepare your strategy. Let’s take a look at the Torghast Boss: Goxul The Devourer.
Goxul has pretty strong basic attack and two abilities which he always cast in the following order:
- Shatter Essence
An AOE attack that when you get hit by it two essence orbs will be spawned.
- Mass Devour
This will deal shadow damage to all players and essence orbs within 20 yards over 5 seconds. Then the boss will gain a shield that will absorb 150% of the damage done.
Just always remember that Goxul has predictable rotation of abilities so make sure to use that to your advantage. Also blind, stun, gouge or any form of cc can prevent the cast of Goxul’s abilities, and if you successfully stop his ability he will just move on to the next ability. Also, if you have any magic immunities then his mass devour is great time to damage him as he will not be able to use basic attack against you for the duration of the cast.
He will gain stacks of Unnatural Power just like other elites and bosses.
- Unnatural Power
Every 10 or so seconds Goxul will gain 10% stacking damage and movement speed bonus. Once he reaches and passes 10 stacks your CCs will no longer work on him.
Overall Goxul’s mechanics are pretty straight forward, having strong single target damage, crowd control skills and cleave to pop those essence orbs before he can gain a shield from them, you will be able handle Goxul pretty well. Also remember that defensives, immunities and utility will vary with what class or spec that you’re playing.
