State of PvP in the Pre-Patch, Battleground Gearing Issues, Beta Build Changes + MORE!

In World of Warcraft, player versus player (commonly abbreviated as PVP) brings out the competitiveness as they combat between other players. As we are nearing with the expansion, let us take a look at what is the current state of PVP.

Beta Build Changes

Before going into the PVP changes, let’s have a look at beta build and the most important changes.

Demon Hunters

  • A nerf of Glaive Tempest reducing the pressure
  • Rework on Unbound Chaos giving burst damage in PVPs
  • Even with the rework of abilities, overall nerf for demon hunters
  • Best composition with warrior or windwalker since this both melee class are powerful and can protect demon hunters

Marksmanship Hunters

  • Buff in Trueshot ability with increased focused regeneration

Frost Mages

  • Slick Ice is buffed increasing the damage
  • The Ice Bite Conduit was significantly nerfed

Enhancement Shaman

  • Doom Winds was severely nerfed, the increase from Windfury Weapon damage is 25% and was previously 100% increase
  • Windfury Weapon was also nerfed from 32.4% damage, down to 24% damage

PvP Battlegrounds Gear

PvP Honor sets are PvP gears you can obtain with the Classic Honor system. Mythic plus gear can achieve getting gears at the end of Mythic Dungeon. Each set contains a total of 6 pieces with set bonus awarded at 2 and 4 pieces. 2 and 6-piece are generic stat increase, while the 4-piece are improvements of your class spell. These sets are built around PvP combat with that, the stats are more generic that other dedicated sets.

Shadowlands BoE Gear

Blizzard have recently added Bind on Equip refers to items or gears that bind to your character once you equip them. If you have BoE items or gears you can sell it to a vendor, put it in the auction house or just give it to another player before equipping it.

Gazelle’s Spiked Collar good item to increase haste and versatility.

Punishing Loop adds stamina and mastery.

Muirnne’s Stormforged Signet increases stamina as well as critical strike.

Relic of the First ones reduces the cooldown of your covenant ability by 20%.

State of Pre-Patch PvP

This will discuss the state of PvP  and real-time PvP events which will focus on pre-patch non-rated arenas. As pre-patch is now live, it gives players to figure out which class and composition are good for PvP.

Demon Hunters

Due to some nerfs this class is definitely out of the best two classes, still they can perform well when partnered with strong healer. Ability Unbound Chaos paired with the Writhing Segment of Drest’agath can still burst damage and take someone out fast. Although demon hunters are still susceptible to melee pressure which can make you struggle to survive.

Arms Warrior

Coming from the weaker class going to top tier class in the pre-patch. Crushing Assault in the pre-patch is incredibly overpowered, dealing a large amount of damage.

Elemental Shaman

Another class from average to top-tier class because of their passive and burst damage with added passive tankiness and shaman utility. Lava burst with increased crit damage is really a great ability for elemental shaman. Along with that Stormkeeper is even dealing higher burst damage.

Paladins

One of the best performing classes in the PvP. Word of Glory does have a large amount of healing for friendly targets. Both Execution Sentence and Avenging Wrath can do significant amount of damage

Shadow Priest

Jumping from weak to one of the strongest classes due to their crowd control and burst damage. Power Word Shield and Shadow Mend are good defensive and heal abilities.

Discipline Priest

Still a decent class that performs well that can provide tons of damage. Having the ability Thoughtsteal, makes them a viable choice. Providing continuous pressure, mind control and defensive abilities makes this class perform well in PvPs.

Feral Druids

Feral druids are still climbing to the top, with abilities Reaping Flames, Ferocious Bite and Writhing Segment of Drest’agath (PVE Trinkets) that easily kill targets rapidly. With mobility and off-healing, which increases survivability for this class.

Rogues

A flexible class with burst damage and incredible crowd control to lock down enemies which makes them a perfect partner for healers and other dps classes.

Classic PTR Testing

A special service you can use to test the game before the patch is released to the public. A Naxxramas testing with end boss of Kel’Thuzad and Sapphiron, this raid will be coming close behind the release of Shadowlands expansion.
